Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所碩士在職專班 === 98 === The purposes of this study were to: (1) understand the differences among personal-ity traits, career development, and psychological well-being from the different back-grounds of elementary teachers; (2) explore the correlations among personality trait, career development, and psychological well-being; and (3) analyze the predictability of psychological well-being based on personality trait and career development. The study was conducted through the questionnaire-survey method. Participants were 474 public elementary teachers from Miaoli County, Taichung County, Taichung City, and Changhua County in the Central Taiwan. The data were analyzed by Descrip-tive Statistics, Independent t-Test, Pearson’s Correlation, ANOVA and Multiple Regres-sion by using the SPSS 12.0. The major findings are listed as follow: 1. The most appearance of elementary teachers’ personality traits were ‘Agreeableness’, ‘Conscientiousness’, and ‘Openness’. 2. The showed stages of elementary teachers’ career development were as follow: ‘Pro-fessional & Mature’, ‘Learning & Growing’, ‘Stable & Stagnant’, ‘Adapting & Ex-ploring’, ‘Frustration & Failure’. 3. The expression of elementary teachers’ psychological well-being appeared that it was accounted in a moderate degree, and they were as follow: ‘Autonomy’, ‘Interpersonal Relationship’, ‘Career Achievement’, ‘Material Satisfaction’. 4. There were some significant differences among personality traits, career development, psychological well-being in backgrounds. 5. There were some significant correlations among personality trait, career development, and psychological well-being in elementary teachers. 6. Personality trait and career development showed significant predictability to psycho-logical well-being. Based on the previous studies and the research results of this study, suggestions were offered for elementary teachers, elementary schools, educational administrators and future researchers respectively.
