The structure of this motor is interior-rotor and the magnets are buried inside the rotor. The rated speed and maximum speed are 3900 rpm and 12000 rpm respectively. Under constant power control, the output power can achieve 6.9 kW. In order to increase the motor performances and reduce the manufacturing cost. The Taguchi method is applied to optimize cogging torque, torque ripple and minimize magnet volume. Finally, the demagnetization effect of magnets under the fault current is investigated.
