Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 機械工程學所 === 98 === Using an inclined water jet Impact to Styrofoam ball make it rotates to drive a DC motor, convert the hydraulic power into the electric power, this system referred to the micro-hydropower generator. Keep the ball and the jet’s diameter ratio, D / d, maintained about at a value of 13.0 to carry out the experiments, it will explore the factors to affect the efficiency of the micro-hydropower generator and the feasibility of combining many generators in parallel. Experimental results show that the greater the water flow rate, the faster the ball rotates, it produces a large amount of torque to increase the output efficiency. It also shows that the output power is proportional to the ball diameter, therefore, the ball with larger diameter will crate much more power. Efficiency evidences show that the generator with small ball has the maximum hydrouli efficiency of 92% at lower rotating speed of 500rpm, the generator with medium ball has the maximum hydrouli efficiency of 92% at higher rotating speed of 900rpm, while the hydrouli efficiency of the generator with large ball could achieve as much as 95.2%. Results also indicate that the electricity generating efficiency is increasing with the rotating speed. The generator with the small ball has the higher electricity generating efficiency at the low rotating speed(<700rpm), while the generator with the large ball has the higher electricity generating efficiency at the high rotating speed(>700rpm). It is interesting to note that the additive effect of the electric current is created when combine two or more generators in parallel at the same rotating speed, it implies the potential applications are available for the micro hydropower generator.
