Summary:碩士 === 佛光大學 === 未來學系 === 98 === Abstract The research investigates different background variables and analyzes the differences between the requirements for career development and the need for counseling of High school track and field trainees in Yi-lan. The research also discusses the relation between the two. Participants of the research are high school trainees in the Track and Field Competition of Yi-lan County during year 2005 to 2009. 296 questionnaires were distributed. Excluding the uncompleted questionnaires, 262 effective questionnaires were collected. The effective collection rate is 88.5%. The researcher analyzed the questionnaire with descriptive statistical analysis, one way anova, t-test and Pearson’s correlation, and got the following results: 1. The mean for trainees’ career development is 3.51 on the scale, which is very close to average. The related aspects listed from highest to lowest are environmental exploration, career exploration and career decision. The mean for trainee’s counseling need is 3.87 on the scale, which shows that high school track and field trainees in Yi-lan are in need of career counseling. The related aspects from highest to lowest are the need for career preparation, the need for environmental exploration, the need for self-exploration, and the need for career planning. 2. There is no significant difference between high school track and field trainees’ career development level and their gender, major and professional level. 3. There is no significant difference on the scale for counseling need between high school track and field trainees’ career development level and their gender, major and professional level. However, there is significant difference on the scale for career planning, showing that physical education majors do better in career planning than non physical education majors. 4. There is positive correlation in each of the discussed aspect between track and field trainees’ career development and counseling need.
