Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 宗教學系 === 98 === In evaluating the philosophy of different thinkers in the Pre-Chien Period, Chuang-Tzu's last article, "the Tien-Sia", especially highlights Chuang-Tzu himself as a sage with compositions full of mystical insights. Using this article's evaluation on Chuang-Tzu's thoughts as the starting point of our reflection, we attempt to uphold the thesis that Chuang-Tzu's corpus is a mystical system leading to union with the TAO of heaven and earth. Our investigation consists of five chapters. The first three chapters respectively analyse about the aim, the basis, and the way to mystical union and illumination. The last two chapters discuss about the fruits of mystical enlightenment which culminates in overcoming life and death, entering into eternity with no beginning nor end, not despising myriads of things, not occupying oneself in disputes, and living peacefully with people having the prevalent views. We conclude with the agreement that Chuang-Tzu's mystical philosophy can further be considered from two more aspects, namely, the language with mystical flavor, and the aesthetic experience embedded within mystical union.
