Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 圖書資訊學系 === 98 === This study aims to explore the information seeking behaviors of graduate students for Hakka Studies. The research targets are graduate students from three Colleges of Hakka studies. Depth interviews were employed in the research. This study applied the concept of information horizon. Therefore, the interviewees were requested to draw a map of their information horizon in research context in order to collect the information about their information need, their preferences for these resources and those factors which affect their information seeking behavior. Following are the research results: 1.The process is different when graduate students build up their research themes. 2.Most students’ information needs came from their class assignments, reports, and participation in some workshops. 3.Searching information is through various kinds of information channels. 4.These graduate students hardly ask librarians for help. 5.There is more than one type about the first choice of information resource. 6.Individuals’ information horizons might change due to different situation and interpersonal relationship. 7.Those resources about recommending type and focusing type play an important role on seeking information. 8.Factors that affect information seeking behavior are different for those students with different background. 9.Individuals with different information cognition might affect their information selection and use. 10.There were limited research documents for reference in Taiwan. According to the above research results, three suggestions were proposed by this study. First, libraries should enhance collections about humanity, society and linguistics related to Hakka resources. Second, libraries should not only facilitate the interlibrary cooperation but also cooperate with other kinds of institutions. Third, librarians could provide the advanced information service with understanding graduate students’ information horizon maps.
