Since the beginning of Taiwanese industry of automobile air-conditioning system assembly parts, there are six venders so far who enjoy domestic market, aiming at target clientele of each and every domestic automobile manufacturer, followed by other business of general after-market parts and exports. In the wake of annual change of policy upon domestic automobile industry, especially since the participation into WTO, more and more flexible source is available to the manufacturers in the demand for automobile air-conditioning system assembly industry. Facing the ambient change that gets fiercely competitive, the manufacturers are tied in the scenario further traumatized by global economic downturn, crude oil crisis, and soaring price of raw materials that push domestic sales to nosedive and barely keep their head above water. However, the venders have to re-visit the ambient development of the whole industry and fine tune its competitive strategy to seek for a corporate ever-lasting existence under the situation already being competitive nowadays. This research focuses on the qualitative approach to discuss and analyze Taiwanese industry of automobile air-conditioning system assembly parts and its selected vendor for case study, elaborates analyzed outcome mainly through Porter industry environment analysis theory along with other related tools of strategic analysis, and summarizes opportunity, threat, strength and weakness that case company faces, with forecast of future development in the environment so as to come up with the most appropriate competitive strategy as well as proposition that enables the case company to sustain a prominent and lifelong competitive edge.
