The ambition of exploring new values of the collection could be seen in their architecture reconstruction, collection multi-managing, image authorization, internet marketing, dining consumption, extension merchandise, museum cooperation etc. The purpose of this case study was to understand how product designers practice their design strategies and convert the ideas from museum objects to Cultural and Creative Products, that is to say, how their designing were inspired from the NPM collection. The range of research was the Aesthetic Models of “Old is New.” Interviews of 4 groups designers and observation at the NPM gift shop was analyzed to obtain the strategies; meanwhile, the project goal was reviewed through the discussion of designers’ self examination. The finding includes: (1) “Old is New” is the first step into the cultural and creative industry innovation for museums in Taiwan, experiences within should be learned to promote museum industry; also, marketing and the brand of the NPM should be improved; (2) The unstableness of the quality of products was resulted from the neglect of designers during the project; moreover, designers should work on developing their cultural cognition to bring more relevant meanings into the products of mass production.
