It used to pay a huge sum of money to repair or to buy new ships to recover the loss. Insurance thus became the best hedge tool. Current more optional hull policies are “Institute Time Clause-Hulls, 1983” and “International Hull Clauses, 2003”. This paper analyzes the scope of coverage and compensation relative clauses, with the discussion of adjustment relative cases to help understand the content and difference between two policies. This conclusions and suggestions of this paper may be helpful to select the proper policy to meet their needs.
