Summary:碩士 === 高苑科技大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 98 === The foundation of mounted police is a trend that can be found from European, American to Asia countries, such as UK, USA, France, Canada, Australia, Japan, Dalian and Inner Mongolia. Among these, Royal Canadian Mounted Police is regarded as Canadian quintessence and important national tourism resources. In Taiwan, Taipei County Mounted Police was found in 2003, and Kaohsiung City Tourism Mounted Police was found in 2005 as well. The study, based on the theory of planned behavior, aims to investigate the factors of police officers participating in mounted police and suggest helpful information for duty planning of mission. Since Kaohsiung City Tourism Mounted Police sets 30-year-old as maximum recruiting age, the research objects consist of police officers no more than 30 years old. The study applies the belief factors – “Attitude, Subject Norm and Perceived Behavioral Control” of the theory of planned behavior with LISREL and AMOS to analyze the “behavior intention of police officers participating in mounted police” and point out the factors. According to the results, “Individual Convenience” of “Perceived Behavioral Control” is the greatest factor for police officers to decide participating in mounted police or not. At present, the mounted police are categorized as a mission service rather than an official duty that is usually scheduled on holidays, so needs more support from family. It is recommended to enforce training and on-duty security and insurance, draw up dangerous budgets and raise family support willingness. Moreover, language competence is a significant factor since mounted police are frequently face foreign tourists. Thus, the police agencies should provide language courses in the training to not only improve the language competence of police officers but attract more outstanding officers that mounted police can achieve the function of providing multi-services, improving tourism as well as preventing crime.
