However, whether MACF1b really interacts with DP remains to be determined. The main purpose of my thesis is to study their direct interactions between MACF1b and DP. Preliminary data shows that MACF1b can be immuno-precipitated by DP, and MACF1b PRDs (plakin repeat domains) interacts with desmoplakin C terminus. We have divided desmoplakin C terminus into three fragments (desmoplakin-C1、desmoplakin-C2 desmoplakin-C3). According to the results of western blotting and co-imuno-precipitation of desmoplakin C fragments with MACF1b PRDs shows that DP-C2 and DP-C3 fragments could interact with MACF1b.
