Our case study is based on a subsidiary kindergarten of a private high school in Taipei, which aims at practicing Frobel’s educational philosophy and Frobel’s Gifts material teaching activities. Our study focuses on how do this kindergarten promote Forbel’s educational believes, how do teachers in this kindergarten establish the Forbel education, what difficulties have teachers encountered, how have they overcome the difficulties, and why have parents chose this kindergarten. With a qualitative research approach, the subjects involved in this case study include five teachers and one parent. This approach includes direct observation of teaching Frobel’s Gifts material teaching activities, interviews, participation in collecting objects and documents, which are then collated, analyzed and summarized .The major findings are as follows: 1. The kindergarten in this case study believes in children based educational philosophy and follows Forbel’s “Natural Law” in their school. They focus on developing students’ personalities and stress the importance learning in a spacious environment. Their devotion in promoting Forbel’s education has become a model for other kindergartens. 2. Teachers have integrated the Forbel education with the real life experiences. Through the process of playing the Forbel’s Gifts activities, it could stimulate children’s potentials and self-motivation. 3. Because of the migration of the social environment in Taiwan (e.g. deseeding new-born population, high competitions among preschools, etc.), this kindergarten intends to further enhance its specialty by becoming a bilingual school. The results of this case study have provided suggestions for the school and numerous implications for future researches. Dr. Pei-Di Shen Dr.Jen Nan Chen 沈佩蒂博士 陳振南博士 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 127 zh-TW |
