However, study about case particle “de” solely aims to clarify and illustrate its usage based on the view points of cognitive linguistics to discover and explore language learners’ learning state without mentioning about the impact on learners’ acquisition of “de” demonstrated in textbooks. The purposes of this study are to understand learners’ acquisition condition and acquisition order of case particle “de”; to find out if any other specific grammatical regulations appear when it comes to the acquisition of “de”, and to exam the hypothesis advanced after analyzing the textbook by using grammar test and to see what impacts may appear for learners toward their case particle acquisition through material use. The results of study showed that learners’ acquisition order toward case particle “de” differentiates from the hypothesis of material analysis which means learners develop their own acquisition order of case particle. Besides, case particle “de” contains several different usages. Japanese language learners use “de” and “ni” with confusion.
