The first parts, nano silica particles were chemically modified with vinyltriethoxy silane coupling agent, which were characterized by using FT-IR and TGA. It was shown that the vinyltriethoxy silane molecules had been successfully grafted onto the silica particles. The second parts, unmodified silica and modified nano silica were subjected to incorporate into the polymer matrix of MMA/2-EHA in series solid content(S.C.) percent of 1,3,5,7 and 9 %. The degree of dispersion of silica in the polymer matrix were characterized by using SEM observation and surface contact angle test, we find the unmodified silica particles were easily aggregated in the polymer matrix. For all the silane-modified silica dispersion in the polymer matrix with different total solids contents were very compatible with polymer matrix.
