Description
Summary:碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 99 === With the improvement of printed circuit board and monolithic microwave integrated circuit technology, modern portable electronics are getting lighter, thinner, and smaller. In order to integrate ultra-wideband technology such as wireless USB into portable electronic devices, it needs compact ultra-wideband antennas. In this thesis, we use simulation software package to simulate and design the planar antenna. A new design of the miniaturized slot monopole antenna is provided. The antenna is studied by both simulation and experiment. Design method is based on asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS) structure. With ACS feed and two coupling slot monopoles, the antenna can operate at three resonant frequencies – 2.5 GHz (BW=6.8%), 4.4 GHz (BW=19.3%), and 5.4 GHz (BW=10.7%). Due to the ACS structure, the antenna’s size (area) can be reduced by one half. The antenna is only in measurement and implemented on a single metal surface FR4 board with relative dielectric constant 4.4. Because the antenna structure is simple, it is easy to be integrated into the circuitry. After the design of the antenna proceeded, the simulation and experimental results are presented and discussed.
