Description
Summary:碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 電子工程研究所 === 99 === In conventional approaches, the design and implementation of a geographical information management system (GIMS) for the campus safety of an elementary school is based mainly on“radio frequency identifications”(RFIDs). However, the effective ranges of the widely used approaches were restricted within the campus of an elementary school. In fact, most of threats that are harmful to students always happen on the roads between home and school. Therefore, it indeed has the necessity to extend the effective range of a geographical information management system. In this thesis, we integrate the location-based service (LBS) and geo-fencing (GF) techniques into the development of a geographical information management system. With the aid of the global positioning system (GPS) and geo-fencing (GF) techniques, the dedicated server can detect whether the student under supervision is inside the geo-fence or not. Once the“out of geo-fence”condition or some exception events happen, the alarm message will then be sent to some relevant persons immediately through the “general packet radio service”(GPRS) interface.
