Description
Summary:碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 機電工程研究所 === 98 === The present study deals with the numerical simulation of flow patterns and mixing behavior in Kenics and Tri-helical static mixer. Five different sets of static mixer (aspect ratio = 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0) comprised of 4 elements each have been characterized. The Reynolds number is varied in the range of 5000 to 50000, the commercial software of STAR-CD is utilized for numerical analysis. The K – ε turbulence model is used to solve the three dimensional Reynolds–averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Results show that the friction factor of Tri–helical static mixer with AR = 1.5 is 30% higher than that of Kenics static mixer with AR = 1.5. However, the averaged axial and radial velocities of Tri–helical static mixer are also increased in 5% and 12%, respectively. It is also found that the mixing efficiency of Tri–helical static mixer is increased approximately 4.50% compared with that of Kenics static mixer. The numerical results has provide the theory for the performance of static mixer.
