Aircraft maintenance work requires specialized knowledge and the maintenance crew need to work under poor maintenance environment while maintaining optimum efficiency and service quality. If an error occurs during the aircraft maintenance process, this error is not likely to be found until several days or months later. Therefore, this error may become a potential risk factor for flight safety. Errors are more likely to happen specially for line maintenance crews, because they work a 24-hour shift rotation and sustain flight punctuality rate of job stress. Therefore, reducing the number of human errors in aircraft maintenance process can reduce the operating costs of airlines as well as aircraft accidents. This thesis uncovers that there are four major factors affecting maintenance crews’ fatigue perception. These factors are “Personal sleep situation and workload”, “Professional performance”, “Internal and external communication and coordination” and “Schedule rotating and personal emotions”. 50% of the line maintenance crews’ sleep times are found to be less than 7 hours on usual time and before duties, and 40% of the line maintenance crews have poor sleep quality and feel more difficult to fall asleep before duties. Comparing the fatigue level between before and after duty, all respondents especially feel “Drowsiness” in physical fatigue; and “Desire to get rid of duties” in psychological fatigue.
