However, the TFT-LCD industry faced the problem of volatile and unpredictable customer’s demand. The demand on larger panel size, high resolution, low cost, high quality and good service are all need to be concerned. Thus, how to enhance the production efficiency of production systems becomes an import issue. Lean Production System is using pull production for customer's needs. To achieve an ideal production system with continuous improvement, efficiency, productivity, good quality, the system begins with defining customer's value. Adopting lean production methods should based on a well-designed facility layout to avoid the waste which hidden in facility layout. Manufacturers can group production procedure into cell to achieve the goal of set up time reduction, moving distance reduction and cycle time reduction. Thus, the main purpose of this research provides a facility layout planning procedure using cell. Besides, we adopt fuzzy multiple attribute decision-making method to evaluate facility layout alternatives. The facility layout planning procedure in this research adopts Systematic Layout Planning(Muther, 1973)and the concept of Creating Continuous Flow(Rother and Harris, 2001). In order to evaluate facility alternatives well, we consider multiple performance index by simulation and fuzzy multi-attribute decision making methods. Finally, we use the facility layout planning procedure on a real-world case study to design several facility alternatives and suggest appropriate alternatives in different production situations.
