It not only improved local tourism industry but made more additional profit. The main purposes of this study were realizing the participants’ characteristic and evaluating the economic benefits of the 2010 Kinmen marathon. The study was conducted with a sample of Kinmen marathon.Three hundred eighty six surveys were returned. According to the descriptive statistic, t-test, and one-way ANOVA, the study got the following results: 1. In demographics, the quantity of male participants were more than the quantity of female participants; most of the participants were young; their occupation were military men, government employees and teachers; their education were university/collage; their income were between $40,001NT ~$50,000NT; non-local residents were account for 80% of participants; they got the information of the marathon from their relatives and friends or from the internet; they lived in hotel hotel during the event time; they took tourist coach; their schedule were arrangement by travel agency. 2. There were no difference among gender and occupation on social and culture benefits; there were difference among age, education, and income on social and culture benefits. 3. 2010 Kinmen marathon’s On Investment (ROI) were 140%, and its economic benefits were calculated by the formula: ROI = (income of event + consumption of participants). As the results, 2010 Kinmen marathon actually brought economic and social benefits to Kinmen, however, the local government should pat more attention on activity planning. Participants’ recognitions showed significant difference on social and culture benefits, the KCG and Kinmen tourism industry could not only renovate buildings and facilities but also design package tourism in order to attract more tourists.
