Summary:碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 體育研究所 === 98 === Hip-Hop Teenage Dancers: Self-identity and Self-esteem Construction and Research Abstract This research is focused on discovering how teenage dancers construct their self-identities and self-esteems. Teenagers learn Hip-Hop elements in the easiest way such as apparels, musics, and what is going to be discussed in this thesis, the dancing, to ideally present their way how they interpret the hip-hop culture, especially for those age who between fifteen and sixteen are even fanatic about it. This research is based upon “Qualitative Research” alone with observing and interviewing in the Taipei city during July 2008 and October 2009. Collecting data through one to one detail interviews from seventeen subjects. The researcher wrote down evey words during those interviews and based on “Ground Theory” to analyze information from each word and each sentence. The information of phrases are tagged with cognative simbles and each one of phrases is compared over and over again to discover relations from both inside and outside meanings and then cluster those similar concepts to an sample. This thesis aims on Hip-Hop culture to explore how Taiwan teenagers construct their self-identities and self-esteems by the favorite of oversea fashions through the Hip-Hop dancing. Thus conclude that teenagers who are getting themselves involve into Hip-Hop are originated from self-identities and self-esteems.
