The electronic throttle we adopted is SAAB 91 88 186, which is driven by a DC brushless motor. The electronic controller mainly consists of CS8961 A0 MAIN EV BOARD V1.0 from Myson Company with Optical Coupler for noise isolation and H-bridge for power booster up to 12V, 5 amp. This new electronic controller is actually the “CS8961 TEST BOARD V1_0”. Due to the embedded CAN bus hardware, this “CS8961 TEST BOARD V1_0” even supports the CAN bus interface for real automobile applications. This new controller has been applied directly to control the real electronic throttle successfully. Other automobile applications will be the heavy turbo charger control, or the APC (Automatic Pressure Control), ventilation control for engine room, … , etc. The final aim of this project is to integrate this electronic throttle controller in real automobile with existing engine ECU, such as Saab Tronic 5, so as to demonstrate the real power of this electronic controller for real automobile applications.
