This study investigated the use of iPod touch to fourth graders and its teaching effectiveness. A quasi-experimental design was used. In this study fifty-nine fourth graders from two classes in Taoyuan County were assigned to the experimental group and control group. The iPod touch-based learning activities in English curriculum was implemented in the experimental group. There were sixteen lessons on both groups. Both groups took pretest and posttest on English learning attitude and English learning achievement in this study to find out the effectiveness of ipod touch on learning attitude and learning achievement of fourth graders. The data were analyzed by ANCOVA. The results of this study were as following: The average scores in English Learning Attitude scale of experimental group students were significantly higher than the average scores of control group. The average scores in English Learning Achievement test of experimental group students were not significantly higher than the average scores of control group. The students of experimental group, the English teacher and the homeroom teacher of experimental group hold positive attitude toward integrating iPod touch-based learning activities in English curriculum. They consider integrating iPod touch-based learning activities in English curriculum is a good way to learn English. In the future, they hope more individualized iPod touch-based learning activities in English curriculum will be developed for students. According to the results, some concrete suggestions were provided for teachers, the official educational government, English mobile learning software developers and future researchers for further study.
