Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 客家語文研究所 === 98 === This research aims to discuss measure words of Taiwan Hakka from cognitive point of view, with the sub-dialect north-Sixian as the main object. There are ten chapters: Chapter 1 introduces the origin of the data used in this research as well as the method to analyze them—theory of categorization, metonymy, metaphor, and image schemas. Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 are literature review, in which we can see how previous studies define and classify the measure words in Chinese dialects and, specially, Hakka dialect. We conclude previous studies and decide which measure words to talk about and how to classify them. Chapters 4 to 9 are our analysis of the measure words. Chapter 4 is about the categories and semantic character of “individual measure” whereas Chapter 5 is about “group measure”. Chapter 6 talks about the categories of “container measure” and how cognition works when people apply nouns or verbs to be a container measure. Chapter 7 discusses the categories of “verbal classifier” and “bound – unbound” verbs. Having discussed the above kinds of the measure words, we make a comparison among the sub-dialects of Taiwan Hakka in Chapter 8, explaining why and how the usage differs with the concept of cognitive difference and experience. Chapter 9 states the morphology of the measure words, mainly focusing on “AA” replication and continuous adjective occurrence. And then comes the conclusion in Chapter 10. The data we have applied in discussion and semantic character of “Taiwan Hakka measure words”are in the appendix.
