The self-developed climacteric health education curriculum which included two stages (i.e.,“the primary curriculum” and “the advanced curriculum”), three subcomponents (i.e.,“understanding climacterics”, “climacteric movement arrangement”, and “the ossein health care”) ,with a total of 11 unit lessons. The dependent variables included the percentage of correct responses from self-developed cognition test, self-reported attitude scale, as well as the direct observation of behavior changes after the intervention. In addition, a self-developed interview form was used to obtain the qualitative data from the participants, the care givers, and the instructors. The results indicated a significant immediate effect among all participants. The majority of the participants showed their preferences in attending the classes. A maintenance effect after 4 weeks of intervention as well as a satisfactory generalized effect were also found. The qualitative results indicated that the dynamic teaching activities increased the attention, motivation, and interactions during the intervention phase. After the intervention, many participants still carried out the related health care activities by themselves, and expressed the importance of taking good care of their own health independently. In conclusion, the instructors, the care givers in the institution, and the participants were satisfied with the overall effectiveness of the self-developed climacteric health education curriculum. The analyses of the results shed some light of the future adaptation of this curriculum. 林千惠 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 182 zh-TW
