Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the family learning environmental factors and the reading comprehension abilities of the new immigrant family children. A total of 926 first graders and second graders in junior high school in Changhua County were selected to participate in this study. All the participants were from the new immigrant family, and were asked to complete the questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed by applying descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study were summarized as follows. First, differences in the family learning environment for the new immigrant family children of different socioeconomic status were found significant. Second, girls scored higher than boys in the reading inference ability. Finally, the physical learning environment could predict the reading comprehension ability of the new immigrant children. According to the findings, some suggestions for teaching and counseling were proposed, and recommendations for further studies were offered.
