Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 98 === This study mainly investigates the relations between role stress and job satisfaction of the school staff in primary and secondary education in Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan Area; Secondly, it’s analyses the influences of the staff’s personal background variables and school background variables on role stress and job satisfaction; And finally, it discusses how well the role stress affects the job satisfaction. Based on Questionnaire Survey Research, this study is conducted with my self-made questionnaire, "The Job Performance of The School Staff In Primary and Secondary Education In Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan Area." The 285 respondents are chosen among 285 schools in Yulin, Chiayi, and Tainan Area. There are 200 effective questionnaires. According to the results, it is concluded as the followings: 1. Nowadays, the school staff are under too much role stress, and are given too much work or too many personal demands. 2. Personal background variables have few influences on the role stress of the school staff. 3. School background variables are partly related to the role stress of the school staff. 4. For now, most of the school staff are satisfied with their job performance, and are capable of adjusting to various working environment and leadership, even maintaining fine interpersonal relationship. 5. Personal background variables play little role in job satisfaction of the school staff. 6. There are some connections between job satisfaction of the school staff and school background variables. 7. Right now, the more role stress the school staff have the lower is their job satisfaction. 8. So far, the role stress of the school staff has a 49.6% prediction on job satisfaction. This study has seven suggestions according to the results above.
