Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 視覺藝術研究所 === 98 === Abstract This research aims to study Yu-Chun Chen art works’ analysis and art teaching, also to propose its art value. In recent years, historians have paid attention on researching of personal value because the vigorous development of local literatures. Researchers then decided to interview Yu- Chun Chen, who is the artist in the Yunlin County, and record his artistic concept and artwork characteristics. In addition, Yu-Chun Chen has extensive experience on art teaching, and his "live and learn" creation spirit is also admired. The study accompanied a lot of interviews of artist's life and background to illustrate his painting performance and teaching philosophy, which focuses on the artistic thinking description, invention background and artwork analysis of Yu-Chun Chen. This research purpose was included into three main points. Firstly, study Yu- Chun Chen’s history and background. Secondly, study the change of Yu-Chun Chen’s artistic creation styles through his painting forms, colors, and techniques. Thirdly, study Yu-Chun Chen’s art teaching philosophy and its impact. We have reaches the following conclusion, firstly, Chen’s painting characteristics included: He specializes in landscape painting and he uses abstract art as the focus for his drawings. He expresses the love of nature and homeland by using the southern magnificent colors and the Fauvism unchained stroke. His artworks reflect his aesthetic and inner feelings. Secondly, Chen’s design concept is to persist ‘creation for joy’ as first rule. ‘Having fun in drawing while pursuing wishes’ is his spiritual image and his drawing emphasizes colors and rhythm of lines. Thirdly, Chen’s teaching practice: When Chen was teaching at Beigang Junior High School, he volunteered and used the after-class time to teach drawing classes without getting paid. For students in his class, he cares about their interests and efforts the most. Chen’s earnest and responsible teaching attitude encourages his students and they are very outstanding during various competitions; therefore, "Beigang Junior High School" is well-known and had a very good reputation. Furthermore, the research period of this paper during year 2008 and 2010, we have encountered various issues and difficulties relating to the studies of local history. The followings are our learning or suggestions: 1. Success is reserved for the person who puts in the most effort, not the person who is most talented or has the most interest in it. 2. It is not easy to collect or categorize drawing albums 3. The development of subjects in local history and culture still needs more effort. 4. The preserved and archived data is insufficient and hence influences the study result. 5. Interviews process is the accumulation of experience.
