Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育與諮商研究所(Graduate Institute of Family === 98 === The goals of this research were to survey the state of the academic achievement-orientation belief and behavior of parenting of elementary school children, and to explore the differences of the academic achievement-orientation belief and behavior of parenting among different background of variables, and to predict the behavior of parenting affected by the academic achievement-orientation belief. The tool of this research was based on “the questionnaire of the academic achievement-orientation belief and behavior of parenting taken by parents of elementary school children” edited by the author. There were 578 effective samples in the result. According to the results , we got the following conclusions : 1.The degree of academic achievement-orientation in the belief and behavior by parents of elementary school children is middle. 2.In the academic achievement-orientation beliefs of parenting,it showes obvious divergence as parents’ gender and social-economy position. 3.In the academic achievement-orientation beliefs of parenting, it showes no obvious divergence as children’s gender and grade and order of birth. 4.In the academic achievement-orientation behavior of parenting, it showes partly obvious divergence as parents’ gender and social-economy position. 5.In the academic achievement-orientation behaviors of parenting, it showes obvious divergence as children’s grade. 6. In the academic achievement-orientation belief of parenting, the factors of “emphasis on academic background” and “promotion of social-economy position” can help effectively predict the academic achievement-orientation behavior. Finally, we makes some suggestions for parents and schools and successive researches in this topic.
