Full lengths of cDNA encoding a novel nuclear receptor (eaNR) were cloned in the E. ancora by PCR. The 1596 bp eaNR contains 1074 bp open reading frames corresponding to 358 amino residues. The multiple alignment and phylogenetic analyses indicate that identified cnidarian NRs are members of NR subfamily 2. To evaluate the eaNR mRNA expression profiles during coral spawning season, quantitative real-time PCR were taken place to determine the eaNR mRNA amounts. Expression of eaNR mRNA in E. ancora was significantly higher in spawning (May, 2009) and early gonad development.
