The methol extract of Chondria ryukyuensis have resulted in isolation of two steroid compounds, a new compound 6, 15-dihydroxy-cholest-4-ene-3-one (1) and a known compound Cholest-4-ene-3,6-dione (2) and seven β-carboline compounds, including three known compounds, 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-β-carboline-3-carboxylic acid (3)、methyl 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro -β-carboline-3-carboxylate (4)and ethyl 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-β-carboline-3-carboxylate (5), along with four new compounds, methyl 2-(4- hydroxybenzyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-β-carboline -3-carboxylate (6)、ethyl 2-(4-hydroxybenzyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-β- carboline-3-carboxylate (7)、4-hydroxybenzyl 2-(4-hydroxybenzyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-β-carboline-3-carboxylate (8)和CR-9 (9) The structures of compounds 1-9 were determined by spectroscopic methods.
