| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育研究所 === 98 === The thesis aims to explore the value and adequacy of “Twenty four filial piety” for the contemporary filial piety. “Filial piety” includes the filial behavior, filial cognition and filial affection which are concepts in Confucianism. And to discover “affection” from the aspect of Confucianism is very important. In “Twenty four filial piety”, the filial spirit remains the concepts of Confucianism. Most of researchers ignored “affection” and discuss the filial behaviors and filial cognition instead. “Thirty six filial piety” and “Contemporary twenty four filial piety” are the revisions of “Twenty four filial piety”. Although they tell in a simple and straightforward way and emphasize the filial value, cognition and practice, they still neglect the importance of the filial affection. However, the modernity of “Twenty four filial piety” needs to develop new ideas and focuses on affection based on the traditional filial stories for great significance. In spite of the filial behavior and cognition, the practice of moral has to extend from the heart; a touching story could produce the power of change. Therefore, in order to be practiced the filial piety on education, the stories of filial piety need to arise from student’s love of parents and emphasize on the involved affection primarily and then the cognition for the respect from deep hearts. Besides, educators also need to notice individual difference and teach students in accordance with their aptitude to produce the great significance of the filial stories.
