In this critical time, many colleges of international business and enterprises have being initiating new sustainability relevant courses or infusion the new concepts into their traditional management curricula. This trend is also emerging in Taiwan. This research aimed at collecting international literatures, understanding its development trends and status of efforts in business management higher education, and exploring the attitudes and needs of students and faculties toward offering green business in the higher education, to assemble recommendation. Faculties and students of the College of Management, Donghua University are targets of this research. The research was conducted from October 2008 to July 2009, under a joint research group formed by a faculty and a research assistant from both the Graduate Institute of Environmental Policy and the Department of Business Management. The research project was legitimated and funded by university’s “Teaching Excellent Promotion Center” for a year to meet annually, investigate curricula of the other universities, design questionnaires and invite three guest speakers to deliver speeches on two seminars of college of management, and in one general course. Student survey questionnaires were sent out before and after each speech, and collected right after speech. A total of 206 valid student questionnaires of three surveys were collected and response rate was around 50%. Faculty mail survey was conducted during the July 2009 and 44 teacher responds were collected. Descriptive statistic was conducted only in this research. The results are briefly described below: The major information sources of green business came from newspapers, magazines, and internet. Both the ratio of faculty who are adopting infusion approaches and the ratio of students who had experiences of taking relevant courses are low. The expectation of both faculties and students toward green business courses in the campus is high. The major reasons of developing such courses is attributed to the emerging trends; however, the reason of not to offer is due to the lack of capable faculties. Comparing with the ratio of students who are willing to learn, the ratio of faculty who are willing to offer new course is half less. The reason is relative with the needs of professional capability. Both faculties and students believe that the offer of green business course will help student in future employment, and contribute students’ enhancement of business competencies. This report recommends that higher education system offer faculties and students with various types of educational activities, including lecture, speeches, workshops, conferences and research on green business and relevant courses to enhance their literacy, capability and profession. In the short time, employing capable faculties in or out side the campus is urgent needed. In the mid term and long term period, the decision maker shall encourage inter-sectors research, teaching and internship through business and university partnership. In addition, rewarding system and measures shall be designated and put to place to create incentives. Min-Hwang Liang 梁明煌 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 155 zh-TW
