Abstract
Analysis on the creation-“Rebirth” is the creator’s journey of discovery on paper art creation between 2009 and 2010. The philosophy behind “Rebirth” is an artistic representation of interaction between paper and multi-media. The development of “Rebirth” includes 4 different yet intermingling creation forms comprised of 3D paper art creation made of paper pulp and multi-media, paper art display installment, investigation on the texture and lines of papers and paper spatial installment.
The purpose of the creation is to investigate in theory behind “Rebirth” from multiple angles in material philosophy, self experience, feminine topics and children’s thinking in attempt to develop creation concepts for personal multi-media; the concept of “Rebirth” is then applied in the realization of a series of paper works and its development before it is repeated verified, revised and rooted with thorough reflection on the creation as a way to probe into the direction for future personal creations.
During the process of creation realization, the creator compiled 4 creation series: 1. Paper rebirth: Grant recycled papers with a new meaning and new life as well as reduce natural resource consumption by means of paper creations. 2. Self-rebirth: Art is a representation of one’s own life. Through the realization of creation, the creator continues to talk to him/herself through the use of materials as means to release personal emotions, purify the heart and the soul and heal frustrations brought by physical illness. 3. Feminine space: The diversity and flexibility of the papers is a best representation of women in daily life. It is used to probe into the situation of modern women and their role in life. 4. Children’s world: The purest, most kind-hearted and most beautiful as well as the most imaginative and creative world. Live the moment with heart-felt happiness. The creator attempts to display the children’s buoyant energy by means of paper creations as well as from interactions with the children.
The essence of “Rebirth” is a demonstration of life, and, moreover, a life-cycle of all things. One can experience the “simplicity”, “joy”, “art & craft”, and “love & hate” in the process of creation, and let imagination run wild through subtle integration of the “object” and “I” as a display of inner life landscape as well as to uplift negative emotions to purify the heart and soul. As for improvements on creation quality, in addition to broadening creation perspectives, methods of work exhibition and exhibition site planning are also incorporated before giving a more profound and lively meaning to the creation “Rebirth” through the interaction and conversation between the work and its spectators.
