Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 國際管理碩士學位學程 === 98 === ABSTRACT This research explores the relationship of the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) among incentives and assistances, firm satisfaction, and firm performance. The incentives and assistances conducted by the EPZ Administration include five factors such as: externality (cluster effects), global linkage, mix of services, information technology, and supply chain management. This study investigates how externality (cluster effects), global linkage, and mix of services increase EPZ firm satisfaction and, in turn, lead to better performance. In particular, EPZ firm satisfaction generated from the above mentioned factors is examined to see if it has effect on the EPZ firm’s performance. Finally, this research also explores how information technology and supply chain management have influence on the performance of firms inside the EPZ. The empirical tests use a Structural Equation Model (SEM) to examine the research hypotheses. The results show that externality (cluster effects), global linkage, and mix of services have significant relationship with EPZ firm satisfaction, in which mix of services has a strong impact and externality (cluster effects) has a negative influence on EPZ firm satisfaction. Especially, both firm satisfaction and supply chain management have positive impacts on firm performance inside the EPZ. However, information technology has no significant relationship with the performance of EPZ firms, which is contrary to the hypothesis of the study. It may be explained by the fact that many respondents reply that corporations themselves were responsible for their own information system whereas the EPZ authority did very little in the investment of information technology inside the EPZ. Keywords: EPZ, externality (cluster effects), global linkage, mix of services, information technology, supply chain management, EPZ satisfaction, and firm performance.
