The seat allocation is usually planned based on an estimated demand. However, the travel demands have inherently stochastic feature. The seat allocation planning based on a given demand cannot provide the most efficient service. This study addresses the seat allocation problem with demand uncertainty by applying stochastic programming technique. The three stochastic models are proposed for different situations. The data collected from the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) was used to test the proposed models. The sensitivity analysis was conducted to know the influences of some important factors. The results show that the proposed models can provide promising solutions. Ta-Hui Yang 楊大輝 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 59 zh-TW
