| Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 美術學系 === 98 === This thesis aims to examine the form and content of my works between 2005 and 2009. During this period, I observe the changes of my inner life and the outer surroundings keenly, fit in to the philosophy of Lao-tze, and try to connect art and life into my works by the device of space installation and plane painting presented by the contemporary art trend. My focus is on the examination and the life concern.
This thesis is divided into four chapters as follows. The first chapter is to think the existence and meaning of life by the inspiration of the philosophy of Lao-tze and the review of the literature. Thus, I could offer my opinions by my works. The second chapter is to explain the learning processes of the combination and the skills of the artists by their works in which I obtained insightful encouragement. The third chapter is to study the interaction among creation, material and thought. I make use of the concepts, the skills of “Illusion and Reality”, “Diversion” and “Duplicate” and apply the device of space to discuss the life phenomenon. In addition, the abruptness created by the merge of the ancient paintings’ conception and the modern architectures’ image is used to deeply think the relationship between human beings and nature. The last chapter is to sum up the thoughts and reflection and then return to the statement of the subject which may be my reference for the development of the future creation.
The interaction between the outer surroundings and the life procedure always draw my attention. The position and meaning of the existence are studied in my works and the changes of the outer surroundings which are caused by human beings are reconsidered as well. The statement of the thesis may help me to realize the shortage of my works and examine the ultimate utopia I pursue. The philosophy of Lao-tze right provides us with the opportunity to do a deeper thinking of life status.
