description 碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 教育學系 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the elementary school students’ Internet using behaviors, parent-child relationship and life adjustment for elementary school students in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. This study adopted the survey research with 1226 participant 4th and 6th grade elementary school students in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. There were 1165 valid responses with a success rate of 96.8%. The collected data was analyzed by using the statistical methods of reliability analysis, factor analysis, descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-teat, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, canonical correlation, stepwise multiple regression analysis, etc. to confirm the research hypothesis and to conclude some research results. The conclusions of this study were: 1. Most elementary students had connected to the Internet for more than 6 years. The most popular place to log on the Internet was home. They used the Internet twice or three times per week and spent less than an hour at most each time . The most popular motive for Internet-using was playing games with friends, and the main Internet-using activities were playing online games, looking up the information through search engines and downloading things like computer games, videos and MP3s. 2. For the authorities concerned: (1) Make more definite regulations on Internet, in order to provide a safer Internet environment for children. (2) Provide diverse facilities for entertainment to enrich children’s everyday lives. (3) Put Internet into lessons to build up proper values and the positive Internet-using attitude for children’s. 2. For schools and teachers (1) Integrate both community and school resources to build the stronger parent-children connection and the better parent-children relationship.
