Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 人力與知識管理研究所 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of Veterans Affairs System on the quality of work life and job involvement of the reemployed youth-adult veterans with various personalities in Kaohsiung City. In addition, this study also seeked to explore the correlation among Veterans Affairs System, the quality of work life, job involvement and youth-adult veterans’ personalities.
A questionnaire survey was utilized in this research. In order to collect the re-levant data, the questionnaires were administered to 416 reemployed youth and able-bodied veterans in Kaohsiung City, aged from 25 to 49. 402 questionnaires were collected, from which 62 questionnaires were invalid. A total amount of 340 ques-tionnaires (81.7%) was considered as valid. The findings of the research can be summarized as follows:
1. The youth-adult veterans’ satisfaction with Veterans Affairs System had posi-tive influence on the job achievement and work identity which could in turn increase the level of job involvement.
2. The youth-adult veterans’ satisfaction with Veterans Affairs System had posi-tive influence on “respect and development” and “environment and safety” which enhanced the cognition toward quality of work life in the workforce.
3. The youth-adult veterans who had high cognition toward the workforce with “Respects and Development” had positive attitude towards “job achievement” and “work identity”, which promoted the level of job involvement.
4. The youth-adult veterans’ positive feelings of "Respect and Development" would increase the level of satisfaction with “Job Achievement” and impact partially positive “work identity”.
5. By examining the relationship between “Satisfaction with Veterans Affairs System” and “The Quality of Work Life”, youth-adult veterans with exter-nal-focused personality were found, respectly, to have negative impact.
The research makes the following suggestions:
1. The relevant authorities could offer military officers a variety of skills training programs, courses and vocational counseling to improve their abilities for ef-fective reemployment.
2. In order to increase positive feelings towards working environment, the Veter-
ans Service Department could provide programs and each is administered dif-ferently – depending on a person’s personality and needs.
3. It is suggested that they need to be trained to gain professional skills for the workforce as preparation before their retirement. Furthermore, for a better workforce development, youth-adult veterans also needed to adjust their atti-tudes towards job engagement, i. e. more investment on their job.
