Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 體育學系 === 98 === The purposes of this study were to identify the differences in current recreational sports participation and participation motivation among elementary school teachers with administrative duties in Kaohsiung City. The participants in this study were full-time teachers with administrative duties at 88 elementary schools in Kaohsiung City in academic year 2009. A self-designed survey was conducted as the research instrument. A total of 1,428 questionnaires were distributed, and 1,086 valid questionnaires were obtained, yielding a valid response rate of 76.1%. Statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Scheffe post-hoc comparison were then adopted to analyze the data. The following conclusions were obtained: 1. In overall, most of the teachers were married, females, aged between 31 and 40 years, having children, with master’s degree (or being a master’s student), 11-20 years of seniority and a concurrent position as a section chief. 2. The majority of the teachers engaged in recreational sports on a regular basis (once a week or more). Most of the them participated in recreational sports on both holidays and working days. They mostly participated in recreational sports in evenings and nighttime (17:00-24:00), 1-2 times per week, 1-2 hours each time on average. Families were the most common sports companions. Walking was the major means of transportation. Most of the recreational sports cost no more than NT$1,000 per month and took place in school sports venues. The most common recreational sport was strolling, while recreation-type sport was the major type. 3. Most of the teachers did not have a strong motivation to participate in recreational sports. 4. There were differences of motivation to participate in recreational sports between different sex, and among different administrative duties. In addition, there were no differences of motivation to participate in recreational sports among different age, educational level, seniority, marriage, and family status.
