Summary:碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 客家文化研究所 === 98 === Plant, animal and humanity live in the same environment. Plant is essential living resources, and necessary for human’s life. Following humanity's development, the plant is closely linked with people's life. Therefore each area can develop unique custom because of the different environment and the nationality, just as indigenous people's millet in Taiwan, wheat in the north part of China, and Indian's corn in America. Discussing about plant's utilization and cognition can provide different thinking and developing mode for traditional settlement culture, sightseeing development and the culture preservation. Kaohsiung County Meinong Township is the typical Hakka’s villages and towns. Because the early irrigation canal facility is complete, that has laid the agricultural development foundation. It makes the farm rich and breeds the rich paddy culture. The rice and Hakka’s life are inseparable. We can find it every time and everywhere, including of the life decorum and cultural festival .Therefore, from cultivation process, belief culture, straw's utilization and rice-made food’s changes, we can record special culture in Meinong, also find out ancient’s wisdom about plant's utilization .By realizing ancient’s wisdom about utilization of local resources, I hope that we can begin to put emphasis on preserving the human culture of richness and the multiplicity. Finally, I also expect that can provide different viewpoint of technical or cultural innovation industry in the future.
