Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 音樂學系 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the multicultural literacy of elementary school music teachers in the Learning Area of Arts and Humanities. The study explored the current situation regarding the multicultural literacy of instructional skills and attitudes. The aim was also to examine the differences of music teachers’ multicultural literacy on variables regarding individual and school-related background, respectively. In order to achieve the goals of the study, the data were gathered by using a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview designed by the investigator specifically for this study. The subjects were public elementary school music teachers of Kaohsiung City in the Learning Area of Arts and Humanities. A total of 194 music teachers completed the questionnaire and three music teachers underwent the interview process. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to compute the percentage, means and standard deviation. T-test and single-factor ANOVA were also performed. Based on the findings of this study, the conclusions were as follows: 1. Most music teachers of Kaohsiung City in the Learning Area of Arts and Humanities have multicultural literacy. They have the ability to implement instructional skills and possess positive attitudes. 2. Music teachers taking multicultural programs can enhance the ability of integration of multicultural programs. 3. Music teachers integrating multicultural viewpoints within music instruction can cultivate students’ cultural perceptions. Finally, the recommendations for the educational administration and follow-up study are suggested.
