Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 音樂學系 === 98 === Abstract This thesis consists of two parts, the performance recital and solo recital respectively. The program and the program notes are included in both parts. There are five pieces in the performance recital. Three of them are the Hungarian Dances No. 1, 2, and 4 by J. Brahms, which were composed for two pianists on one piano in a strong Hungarian gipsy music style. The other two are Piano concerto in A major, No.12, K.414 by W. A Mozart, which is the concerto form of the classical period and Rhapsody in Blue by the American composer G. Gershwin, composed for two pianos in a classical concerto form, with influences of jazz and classical music. There are six pieces in the solo recital. The first piece, J. S. Bach’s Partita No.1 in B-flat Major, BWV825, which was composed in Leipzig, includes Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Menuet and Gigue, in the typical baroque suite style. The second and third pieces were composed by the Polish composer, F. Chopin, who is associated with the Romantic movement of the 19th century. The second is Etude in F major, Op.25 No.3, which was composed in various chords to show the skill. The third is Etude in c minor, Op.10 No.12 “Revolutionary”, which has important techniques in left hand with rapid-sixteen notes. The fourth is Nocturne in B -flat Minor Op.9 No.1 and the fifth is Nocturne in E-flat Major Op.9 No.2. These two pieces are full of emotional expression, the romantic atmosphere at night, richness in improvisation and various harmonic changes. These are typically representative of the nineteenth century Romantic Movement. The sixth piece is Piano Sonata in E-flat Major, Op.81a by L.v. Beethoven. It is the one of his most important compositions after Heiligenstadt Testament. It used three-notes motives in this piece. It contains the typical neat structures and forms found in Classicism. Its unique vocabulary expresses the strong personal friendship between Archduke Rudolph and the composer. It’s both an artistic and technical composition.
