Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 教育學系 === 98 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the present situations of the primary school principals’ instructional leadership and teachers’ professional commitment. By looking at diverse backgrounds, the researcher manages a research to study the relatedness and differences of principals’ instructional leadership and teachers’ professional commitment. According to the research, the researcher makes some conclusions and suggestions. The study adopts a method of questionnaire surveys, and uses “the Questionnaire of Primary School Principals’ Instructional Leadership and Teachers’ Professional Commitment”, which is developed by the researcher, as a tool. The formal teachers working at public primary schools in Ping-Tung County were as the population, and 521 valid questionnaires were retrieved and collected. The data collected from the surveys were treated and analyzed by SPSS 17.0 including descriptive statistics t-test, One-way variance of analysis, Pearson’s product-moment correlation method, and multiple regression The results were summarized as the followings. 1. Primary school teachers’ recognition for principals’ instructional was on the above average. 2. Primary school teachers’ recognition for professional commitments was above average. 3. There were significant differences in the background variables of primary school teachers, such as teachers’ gender, serving years, school positions, school size, in the principals’ instructional leadership Scale, However, there weren’t any significant differences in the background variables, such a teachers’ instructional leadership Scale. 4. There were significant differences in the background variables of primary school teachers, such as teachers’ gender, serving years, school positions, school size, in the teachers’ professional commitment Scale, However, there weren’t any significant differences in the background variables, such a teachers’ instructional leadership Scale. 5. There was a positive correlation between principals’ professional commitments. 6. The principals’ instructional leaderships highly predicted the teachers’ professional commitments. Finally, according to the result, there came out some concrete suggestions for primary school principals and teachers and future researchers.
