Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 視覺藝術學系 === 98 === The study was based on concern for local customs, I then extended the topic to real life exploring local customs in Dong Gong. By studying related records then discussing practical and humanitarian life in Dong Gong. The scenery and culture in Dong Gong has inspired me to paint series of Dong Gong’s scenery. We can see strong will of the fishermen and understand the value of laborers through my paintings. I analyzed records of western Realism and humanitarian material as the reference for my paintings. The root of the development of Taiwan Realism art during the 70s was “care for local customs” movement which was the same reason as the development of Realism in France in the 19th century. Realism paintings portray people in a practical and humanitarian way. After I visited Dong Gong, I have come to understand tough conditions for the fishermen there. We should pay more attention to people around us. My paintings portray the real life of low-class people. My paintings originated from care for local people, then moved to concern for their spiritual feelings. Painting is an endless journey for me. I wish I can display more artistic types of painting in the future.
