Methods: There were 365 sixth grade elementary students resided in Taipei participate in the present study. One hundred and seventy seven students were control group, who didn’t participate in any sport clubs (group C; 87 boys and 90 girls) and 188 students were experimental group who participate in different sport clubs (group E; 100 boys and 88 girls). The experimental group included three sport clubs, which were swimming club (group S; 56 students), track and field club (group T; 102 students), and badminton club (group B; 30 students). The bioelectric impedance analysis was selected to measure the body mass index (BMI), percentage of body muscle (BM%), percentage of body fat (BF%), percentage of limb muscle (LM%), percentage of limb fat (LF%), percentage of lean muscle in arm (LMA%), percentage of lean muscle in leg (LML%), and percentage of lean muscle in upper-lower limb (LMULL%). All collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The body composition in group C and E was analyzed by independent sampling t-test. The group C, S, T, and B were analyzed by one-way independent-measures ANOVA. Tukey’s test for post hoc analysis was used when significance was found. Results: The BMI, BM%, BF%, LM%, LF% in group E were significantly greater than in group C (p < .01). The BMI、BM%、BF%, LM%, LF% in group S, group T, and group B were significantly greater than in group C (p < .01). Moreover, the LMA% in group C, group S, and group T was significantly higher than in group B (p < .01). The LMULL% in group C, group T, and group B was significantly higher than in group S (p < .01). Conclusion: The elementary school students to participate in sport clubs had greater body composition than those did not participate in sport clubs. Moreover, elementary school students with different sport clubs have difference in body composition. 彭雪英 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 57 zh-TW
