A Study of Construction of a Virtual Reality Laboratory: An Example of university general physic experiments at Newton’s second law of motion

碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 科學應用與推廣學系科學教育碩士班 === 98 === We investigate how to employ the virtual reality (VR) technology to construct virtual experiments (VEs) of university physics. In this study, we will build three VEs of the Newton’s second law of motion. By these three VEs, we study the VR technology,...

In this study, we will build three VEs of the Newton’s second law of motion. By these three VEs, we study the VR technology, the precision of the scientific simulations, and the user experiences. Our study shows the followings. The VR technology provided by the Virtools program is fulfilled for building the VEs. The errors of the scientific simulation are within 3 percentages as compared with the theoretical predictions. The tests of users’ experiences showed the following four facts. (1) 94 percentages of testers agreed that the operation of VEs is appropriate. (2) 87 percentages of testers agreed that the VEs can enhance their studies in the university physics. (3) 75 percentages of testers agreed that they can experience the virtual reality when they performed the virtual experiments. (4) 75 percentages of testers agreed that the VEs can improve their learning motivations. Several concrete suggestions for the design of physics virtual experiments were eventually proposed in light of the conclusion for the reference of following research.
