Furthermore, it is to explore the relation between students’ life stress and emotional management. The study, conducted by questionnaire survey method, is focused on the fifth and sixth graders of one elementary school in Taichung city. 818 formal questionnaires are handed out and 798 valid ones are returned. The questionnaire data are analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and product-moment correlation. The conclusions induced are as followed: 1. On the whole, the scores of life stress of the fifth and sixth graders are lower than the average, which show that they tend to have lower life stress. 2. On the whole, the scores of emotional management of the fifth and sixth graders are higher than the average, which show that they normally have good emotional management. 3. Different background variables of the fifth and sixth graders like grades, birth order, family structure, financial condition and parents’ rearing style may lead to significant differences in life stress; however, the variables like gender and parents’ educational level make no significant differences in life stress . 4. Different background variables of the fifth and sixth graders like grades, gender, birth order, family structure, financial condition and parents’ rearing style may lead to significant differences in emotional management; however, the variables like parents’ educational level make no significant differences in emotional management. 5.
