| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 國語文學系碩士班 === 98 === This paper mainly studies on scribed boards , couplets and correlations in Matsu temples in Tainan City . Through a comparison between on - site investigation and reference , it recorded inscribed boards and couplets information in details . Then data sorting and analysis were done as well . Firstly, a complete and logical narration and discussion on its historical origin, function and application trait have been done .On the aspect of connotation , it mainly studies systematically with a focus on meanings,, rhetoric , aesthetic effort in phonology and artistic presentation ( material quality , carving style and fonts involved ) of related boards and couplets . Afterwards,a further
research on cultural implication of inscribed boards and couplets in Matsu temples in Tainan City to gain historical and cultural significance was entirely presented . lt '' s with an aim at offering a different Matsu research direction from previous time . The paper can also be a historical witness for the reservation of cultural property .
