The aim was to explore the preferences of the sixth grade schoolchild on the different experiment process, the influence of the change on the experiment process, and the improvement of the learning proficiency on the experimentation activities by the way of action research. In the procedure of this study, the researcher intended to investigate the probable problems and find out the solutions. The qualitative method was used in the study. The participants of this study consisted of sixth-grade schoolchild in the researcher’s own class. The researcher collected video and audio recordings of the teaching scenes, the researcher’s reflection journal, the students’ learning interviews, and related information about students’ worksheets and documents. In the data analysis, the comparison, the analysis and the induction were carried on during the research process. Furthermore, the researcher’s conclusions were conducted by the results. Based on the results of the data analysis, the main findings of this study were as follows: 1. The students’ preferences of participating in the experimental activities were improved by suitable grouping. 2. The students’ preferences of taking part in the experimental activities were increased by using the strategies of reward systems and group competitions. 3. That the teacher provided related main ideas about the experiment before the class helped students in the experimental process. Finally, according to these conclusions of this study, suggestions about teaching activities of the experimental curriculum implementation as well as the future research were proposed.
